Overview

A precise cut makes the whole job faster

A fibre laser cuts with a focused beam: narrow kerf, accurate contour and a small heat-affected zone. 12 kW of power cuts thin and thicker sheet quickly, and the 4000 × 2000 mm bed takes a full standard sheet without repositioning.

An accurate blank saves time in every downstream step: parts bend more precisely, locate in welding fixtures, and clean edges need less preparation before coating.

Design tips for laser cutting

One thicknessfewer sheet changes, lower cost
Tab and slotparts self-locate for welding
Holes vs. thicknessdiscuss very small holes in thick sheet
Distance to bendskeep holes away from bend lines
Tolerancestight only where functionally needed
Clean file1:1 mm, without frames or dimension lines
One plant

Not just cutting – a finished part

Laser-cut parts are bent, milled, welded by robot or laser and powder coated in the same plant. Lead time is counted to the finished product, with no transport between subcontractors.

Tubes and profiles are cut on a dedicated tube laser.

Price

What determines the cutting price

  • Material and thickness
  • Cut length and number of pierces
  • Quantity and nesting on the sheet
  • Tolerance and edge quality requirements
  • Further operations (bending, welding, coating)

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which file formats do you accept?

DXF for flat parts, STEP for bent and welded parts, as well as DWG, IGES and PDF.

What is the largest sheet size?

The working area is 4000 × 2000 mm.

What thickness can you cut?

It depends on material and required edge quality – we confirm it against your drawing.

Can you cut from a sketch?

Yes, we prepare the production drawing from a sketch or a sample.

What is the minimum order?

One piece.

Can you use customer-supplied material?

Yes, we cut from your material or from material we supply.

Fibre laser or plasma?

Fibre laser gives a narrower kerf, more accurate contour and a smaller heat-affected zone.

What tolerance can you hold?

Repeat positioning is ±0.02 mm; the achievable part tolerance depends on material, thickness and geometry and is confirmed against the drawing.

Can parts be marked by laser?

Yes, part numbers and bend or assembly marks can be laser-marked.

Do you optimise nesting?

Yes, parts are nested to minimise scrap and cost.

About the service

Laser cutting in Lithuania – sheet metal parts to drawing

Sheet metal laser cutting is a non-contact thermal process in which a focused fibre laser beam melts the material along a CNC path generated from the customer’s DXF, DWG or STEP file. UAB Alumnita cuts mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium in our plant in Kaunas, Lithuania, on a 12 kW fibre laser with a 4000 × 2000 mm working area and ±0.02 mm repeat positioning accuracy.

Typical parts are brackets, mounting plates, enclosure panels, frame elements, decorative panels and flat blanks for bending. The narrow kerf and stable contour allow parts to go straight to bending, welding and powder coating without rework – from a single piece to series production.

For buyers, the key advantage is that cutting and all downstream operations take place in one plant: no transport between suppliers, one dimensional reference and one manufacturer responsible for the finished product. We supply customers in the Baltics, Scandinavia and Germany.
