Tube laser cutting
Laser cutting of tubes and profiles
Exceptionally clean, precise cuts with no dross and no burrs. Holes, slots and bevelled edges are cut in one cycle from a single datum, so the part leaves the machine ready for welding and coating.

Tube laser cutting – key facts
UAB Alumnita cuts round, square and rectangular tubes and profiles on a fibre tube laser. Cuts are clean, without dross or burrs; holes, slots and bevels are produced in one cycle from one datum.

- 3 kW fibre tube laser
- Features
- bevel cutting, zero-tail cutting, ovality compensation
- Downstream
- bending, welding, powder coating
A clean cut – no grinding needed
The laser cuts tube without dross or burrs, so there is no grinding, deburring or fitting. All holes and cut-outs are cut from one datum, so their relative positions are accurate and frames assemble without adjustment.
Sawing followed by drilling and milling adds tolerance and a new set-up at every step. The tube laser combines all of these into a single cycle.
Work examples for process engineers
| Part | Done on the laser | What it saves |
|---|---|---|
| Furniture and frame tubes | length, ends, mounting holes, tab and slot | drilling, fixtures, fitting |
| Corner joints | mitred end and weld preparation | milling, manual preparation |
| Racking uprights | rows of holes, slots | marking, drilling, punching |
| Profiles for bending | relief cuts at bends | bend set-up, scrap |
| Visible members | clean contour | grinding before coating |

Designing tube frames for the laser
Cutting, welding and coating without breaks
Laser-cut tubes are welded by robot, laser or manually and powder coated in the same plant. For frames combining sheet and tube we also use the sheet laser.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can you cut at 45°?
Yes, bevel cuts are made in the same cycle.
Do parts need grinding after cutting?
Usually not – the laser leaves a clean edge without dross or burrs.
Which profiles do you cut?
Round, square and rectangular tubes; we confirm suitability for a specific profile against the drawing.
Do you weld and coat cut tubes?
Yes – by robot, laser or manually, then powder coating in the same plant.
What about larger diameters or bending?
Larger diameters and tube bending are handled on request, so you keep one contact and one invoice.
Why laser instead of sawing?
The laser produces length, holes, slots and bevels in one cycle – no drilling, milling or grinding, and accurate feature positions.
Which materials do you cut?
Carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminium tubes and profiles.
Can you cut tab-and-slot joints?
Yes, they allow frames to be assembled without complex fixtures.
Tube and profile laser cutting
Tube laser cutting processes round, square and rectangular tubes and profiles with a rotating chuck and a fibre laser: length, holes, slots, bending notches, bevelled edges and tab-and-slot joints are produced in a single cycle. Alumnita uses a 3 kW fibre tube laser with bevel cutting, zero-tail cutting and automatic ovality compensation.
The process replaces sawing, marking, drilling and milling, reducing manual work, fixtures and adjustment. The clean, dross-free edge is ready for robotic welding and powder coating, and precisely cut joints ensure repeatable frame geometry.
The service is used by manufacturers of furniture, racking, retail and exhibition equipment, machine frames and architectural elements. Larger diameters are cut and bent on request, so the customer keeps one contact and one responsible supplier.
